Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP)

 
  • Open to children ages 0-18 in day care or after-school programs
  • Open to elders in adult day programs
  • Your family income must be at or below 130% of poverty for free meals OR at or below 185% of poverty for reduced-price meals (see charts below)
  • Provides meals and snacks depending on how much of the day children or elders spend at the program

How do I apply?

  • Apply for your children or for elders at their after-school or day program.
  • Census areas with 50% or more of children eligible for free/reduced-price school meals can serve free after-school snacks to all children. No proof of income is needed. Talk to your provider about taking advantage of this resource if your area is eligible.
