Find Out if you are eligible for SNAP!

To find out if you are eligible call one of our FoodSource Hotline counselors at 1-800-645-8333.  Counselors will ask you a few questions and let you know if you might be eligible.  Counselor can also help you apply over the phone and will keep in touch with you through the application process to provide information and assistance if needed.

How does DTA determine eligibility?
SNAP eligibility takes into consideration a person’s income, expenses, and other non-financial things such as age, student status, and immigration status.  There is not one single guideline that determines a person’s eligibility for SNAP.

How the FoodSource Hotline Helps
Every counselor has in depth knowledge of SNAP regulations and have the most accurate and up to date information on recent changes.  Counselors will also take the time to examine your specific situation and help you find all the deductions that could increase your benefit amount.

To Talk with a FoodSource Hotline Counselor
FoodSource Hotline counselors are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  You can speak with a counselor by calling our toll free number 1-800-645-8333 or click the Chat with a Counselor now button to instant message.

If You Do Not Live in Massachusetts
Guidelines for SNAP can differ from state to state.  Project Bread’s FoodSource Hotline is a Massachusetts nonprofit agency and can only provide information about SNAP for Massachusetts residents.  To find a phone by number in your state call the USDA at 1-800-221-5689 or visit their website:  http://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/state-informationhotline-numbers
